These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Azat Berdimyradov
(“ChefBook”, “we”, “us”, “our”) governing your use of the ChefBook mobile application
(ai.chefbook.app), our website https://chefbook.net, and all related services (the “Service”).
By downloading, installing, or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and UK, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements and are not barred from using it under any applicable law.
2. Your account
- You may create an account with an email address, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Apple.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and device secure. Notify us at support@chefbook.net immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
- You may delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your content; it does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid (see section 6.6).
3. The Service
ChefBook is a recipe management and meal planning app. Depending on your plan, it lets you:
- Create, edit, organise, and store recipes;
- Import recipes from a link, pasted text, or a photo, with AI assistance;
- Organise recipes into cookbooks, and browse public recipes in Discover;
- Build grocery lists and weekly meal plans;
- Use Cooking Mode, adjust servings, translate recipes, and calculate estimated nutrition;
- Use the “What to cook” wizard for suggestions based on what you have and what you like;
- Share recipes and cookbooks, and set each one to private or public.
We may add, change, or remove features. If we discontinue a material feature you paid for, we will give you reasonable notice and, where required by law, a pro-rated refund.
4. Your content
You keep ownership. Recipes, photos, notes, lists, and everything else you create or upload (“Your Content”) remain yours. These Terms transfer no ownership to us.
Licence you grant us. You grant Azat Berdimyradov a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and display), transmit, and back up Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you. If you set content to public, you additionally grant us and other users the right to view, save, and re-share that content within the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in routine backups until they are purged, and for public content that other users have already saved.
Your responsibilities. You represent that you own or have the rights to Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights. You are solely responsible for what you publish.
Imported recipes. Import features process pages, text, and images that you supply. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import that material. Recipe ingredient lists and methods are generally not protected by copyright, but the expression — the headnote, narrative, photography, and layout — usually is. Do not set imported third-party material to public. Import features are intended for personal, private use.
Moderation. We may review, refuse, hide, or remove public content that violates these Terms, and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do so. We are not obliged to monitor content proactively.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive, or dangerous (including recipes intended to cause harm);
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Upload malware, or attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service, or use bots to create accounts or content;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except where that restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Circumvent paywalls, usage quotas, trial limits, or any technical protection measure;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
- Use the Service to build a competing product, or to train machine-learning models on content obtained from it;
- Violate any applicable law or these Terms.
6. Subscriptions, trials, and payment
6.1 Free and Premium
ChefBook offers a free tier with usage limits (for example, a capped number of AI imports per period) and a ChefBook Premium subscription that unlocks premium features and higher or unlimited quotas. Current features and prices are shown in the App before you purchase.
6.2 Billing
Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Your purchase is governed by these Terms and by the store’s own terms.
6.3 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically. Your subscription renews at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
6.4 Free trials
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial converts automatically to a paid subscription at the price disclosed at sign-up.
6.5 Managing and cancelling
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time:
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions
- Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep Premium access until the end of the paid period. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
6.6 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, so refunds are handled by them under their policies — we cannot issue them directly. Request a refund via reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play. This does not affect statutory rights: EU/UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, which you may waive by requesting immediate access to digital content, and we honour all mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.
6.7 Price changes
We may change prices. Changes take effect at your next renewal and only after we notify you in advance, in accordance with App Store and Google Play rules. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before it takes effect.
7. AI-generated content — important disclaimer
The Service uses AI to import, complete, translate, and analyse recipes and to estimate nutrition. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong.
- Nutrition values are estimates only. They are not medical, dietary, or nutritional advice, are not verified by a professional, and must not be relied on for medical conditions, allergies, or clinical diets. Consult a qualified professional.
- Verify allergens and ingredients yourself. Never rely on the App to determine whether a dish is safe for an allergy or intolerance.
- Cook safely. Times, temperatures, and food-safety guidance produced or imported by the App may be wrong. Follow official food-safety guidance for your region and use your own judgement.
- Imported recipes are only as accurate as their source.
You use recipes, nutrition data, and AI output at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for illness, injury, allergic reaction, spoiled food, or any other loss arising from them.
8. Our intellectual property
The App, our website, and all software, design, branding, text, graphics, and the ChefBook name and logo are owned by Azat Berdimyradov and protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Third-party services and content
The Service integrates Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service, Apple App Store and Google Play billing, and RevenueCat, and may link to third-party websites. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
10. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@chefbook.net containing: identification of the work, identification of the allegedly infringing content and its location in the Service, your contact details, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised, a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act, and your signature. We remove infringing content promptly and terminate repeat infringers’ accounts.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that content — including AI output and imported recipes — will be accurate or complete.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Azat Berdimyradov, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR CONTENT, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 50.
Back up your data. While we maintain backups, you are responsible for keeping your own copies of recipes that matter to you.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Azat Berdimyradov and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, damage, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where practicable, if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, if your account is used fraudulently or abusively, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate the Service entirely, we will give at least 30 days’ notice and, where required by law, refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription.
On termination your licence to use the App ends immediately. Sections 4 (licence to public content already shared), 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, and 18 survive termination.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days’ notice in the App or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Türkiye.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.
Please contact us first at support@chefbook.net — we try to resolve issues informally within 30 days.
18. Apple App Store — additional terms
These terms apply when you obtain the App from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Azat Berdimyradov only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Your licence to use the App is limited to use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability, regulatory non-compliance, or consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, or discharge of any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
19. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Language. These Terms are drafted in English; translations are provided for convenience and the English version prevails in case of conflict.
